Within these Programs (certain versions) encryption is

National Web Window does not discriminate against encrypted E-Mail
transmissions.

Q. - How do I send E-Mail to someone?
A. - First you must
have their complete E-Mail address (example, support@nwwin.com ) if
you do then you simply compose the message in your E-Mail program
and send it off. In most E-mail Programs, just click on New Message
and put the E-mail Address in the To: box.

Q. - What is the correct form for an E-Mail address?
A. - Generally, a
persons e-mail address will be their username followed by the at '@'
symbol and then the domain name (e-mail addresses are case
sensitive).

A. - The SMTP server is
the server which you send your E-Mail through, in order to get it to
the proper recipient, the National Web Window mail servers URL is
mail.nwwin.com.

A. - A URL is a
Universal Resource Locator, or simply an address on the Internet.
All URL's have numbers, for example if you type in 208.128.2.2 you
will get the National Web Window HomePage. Most URL's also
have a name assigned to them as well such as http://www.nwwin.com

National Web Window, and load up Netscape, then follow these steps.

and pick Preferences.

- A window will appear asking you

to Disk button another window will appear asking you where to save

- Once a location is selected,
click the OK button, and the file will be transferred to your system
and placed in the directory you specified.

A. - No, Netscape, Does not
require registration of their program. On some earlier versions
of there was a
registration required, however Netscape discontinued this.

"Netscape is unable to locate the server: (the URL you are looking
for) or The server does not have a DNS entry."
A. - This means, the URL to
the specific server you are trying to connect to is either incorrect, or
the remote server is currently unavailable. Although, it is possible
that you are looking at the wrong DNS server. The address to National
Web Window's DNS server is 208.128.2.14

Online? If I have Trumpet Winsock
A.
- After Windows is already running . . .
- Click on the Trumpet Winsock
icon in your Village Online group or folder.
- If when you open Trumpet
Winsock, your modem automatically dials skip to step 4.
If when you open Trumpet Winsock, your modem does
not dial, proceed from this point.
- In Trumpet Winsock go to the
Dial menu and select Login.
- Once the dial-in procedure is
complete, verify you received an IP address.
Verification will look like this:
My IP is 209.94.224.xxx. (xxx)= A randomly selected number.
- Once you see your IP address,
minimize trumpet and click on the service you want to use, such as

Windows 95 TCP/IP
Dial-up
This section is to assist our
customers with Windows 95 who wish to use the Dial-up capabilities built
in to Windows 95.
8.1
P. The
modem isn't dialing, or otherwise doesn't appear connected.
S. Check to see that
connections are solid and speaker volume is turned up. Select
"Configure..." from the Properties sheet for your connection,
and make sure they the hardware specifications for your modem (port,speed,
ect.) are entered properly in the General and Connection sheets. For
fast modems, the connection speed should be set to 19200 or higher,
"Data bits should be set to 8, Parity should be set to
"None", and "Stop bits" should be set to 1. In the
Advanced section of the Connection sheet, "Use flow control"
should be checked with the "Hardware (RTS/CTS)" option.
8.2
P. Text is garbled, or the modem disconnects at the wrong time.
S. Did you get a solid
modem connection? If the text in the terminal window is garbled, or you
hear the phone click off before the terminal window comes up, then the
connection has gone bad for some reason. Cancel the connection and start
again. If the problem persists, check the connection between your modem
and the telephone line, or remove additional devices (FAX machines,
answering machines ect.) from your phone line and try again.
8.3
P. The computer connects, but your Internet application
(Netscape) reports that "The host is unreachable" or
"Could not contact name server".
S. Most of these problems
are caused by incorrect TCP/IP settings in the "TCP/IP
Settings" section of the "Server Type..." sheet. Check
the settings and in particular check that the correct primary DNS server
has been entered.

P. I check the save password check box, but it never saves
my password.
S. You need to download and
install a patch that Microsoft put out, this piece of software will
solve this problem.
