| We all care dearly
about our pets--since we do care, it is important to read and understand the ingredients
labeled on pet foods. Ingredients are listed in order of their volume percentages. For
example, if Soybean is the first ingredient listed on the label-then Soybean is the major
ingredient in the food. By-Products Parts of the animal not fit for human consumption. By-products can include intestines, chicken heads, duck bills, chicken and turkey feet, feathers and bone. Ingredients listed as beef, chicken and poultry by-products are not required to include actual meat. Rendered meat can be any rendered mammal meat including dogs and cats. Ethoxyquin, BHA & BHT Chemical additives used as preservatives. Ethoxyquin is regulated as a pesticide and cannot be added to human food. Many pet foods contain fillers that have little or no nutritional value. Products like feathers, soy, cottonseed hulls, corn cobs, peanut hulls, citrus pulp, screenings, weeds, straw and cereal by-products. Look over your current pet food! Smell it! Taste it! How does it feel? Would you eat it? If not--why would you feed it to your pet?
What makes Flint River Ranch Pet Food Unique? No chemical preservatives. No Ethoxyquin, BHA OR BHT. No By-Products! Flint River Ranch is naturally preserved with Vitamins E and C using human quality ingredients. Most foods using chemical preservatives and low quality fillers may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health and degenerative organ dysfunction. Made and shipped fresh. Concentrated. Costs less to feed. Recommended by Vets and Breeders. Sold nationally. Delivered by UPS to your home. No more special trips or carrying heavy bags. What Makes Flint River Ranch Canine Food Unique? The Chicken, Rice and Lamb formula is an OVEN-BAKED Kibble-resulting in better nutrition, palatability and digestibility. Oven-baking changes hard to digest starches into easy to digest dextrins, which are readily absorbed into your dog's system. The good value is baked-in, not sprayed on. There are no additives or greasy coatings to make the taste acceptable. What makes Flint River Ranch Feline Food Unique? Chicken and lamb provide Taurine and amino acids for the basic building blocks of muscle, skin, coat bone, eyes, heart and the immune system. We guarantee a protein analysis of no less than 32% and no less than 20% fat. The protein helps promote acidic urine, low urinary PH and helps prevent F.U.S. The food has plenty of crunch, like crunching a mouse bone, with a "glassy" texture, fresh smell and thin tapered edges that all felines enjoy. |
INGREDIENTS Proper diet not only is important for humans, it is the most basic aspect of a pet's lifestyle. Flint River Ranch food is structured to help the animal's body to holisticly heal itself through proper nutrition. Benefits are noticeable in the pet's shiny coat, healthy skin and energy level. CHICKEN MEAL Considerable amount of time was required to locate our chicken meat source, a specialty supplier that has the ability to process to our specific requirements. Our chicken is not from rendering plants where by-products are rendered at high temperature. There are no bones, by-products or indigestible parts in our Chicken Meal. It is strictly human quality chicken flesh with some edible skin. The same as you would cook for your family. We have the chicken cooked at the supplier to maintain freshness and reduce the possibility of contamination in handling and shipping uncooked product. It is processed into a "Ground Meal" form with most of the water removed for ease of handling and reduced shipping costs. WHEAT AS FOOD INGREDIENT Some humans, as well as pets, are allergic to wheat. However, it is a far better grain to digest than corn or soybean. Using a combination of different forms of grain-ground wheat, wheat flour, wheat germ meal, ground rice is better than just one grain. Humans, as well as pets, have certain foods they should not eat. While a wheat base is acceptable to most dogs, it is up to each pet owner to make this determination. We purchase our grains from General Mills and Pillsbury, not directly from the farm. The cost is greater; however, we are insured of receiving the finest quality without the risk of mold or other harmful toxins. BEET PULP Our beet pulp has no sugar. We use only the fiber left after all the sugar has been extracted. Beet pulp by far is the best source of fiber to gently massage intestinal walls, removing the mucous/slime and aid in the animal's bowel movement. Nutrients are first digested in the stomach-then absorbed into the blood through the intestinal walls. Proper fiber acts as a calming base for forming the stool in the colon and it develops good fecal consistency. We feel it is better than peanut hulls, corncobs, citrus, screenings and other fillers most often used in pet foods. PRESERVATIVES Foods will spoil without some form of temperature control or preservatives. Some feel that chemical preservatives are more important to use than allowing the possibility of a food turning rancid. We disagree. As a preservative, we use Vitamin E, a closely related fat-soluble compound known as tocopherols. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that retards the oxidation of other vitamins. It is important for reproduction. Vitamin E works as a preservative up to a period of twelve months and as a peak preservative up to six months. Our products, including manufacturing and shipping time, are in the hands of the pet owner within one month. When stored out of direct heat, the pet owner has a "fresh" product for a period of at least 5 months-with the ability to feed for 11 months. If your pet does not consume food during this length of time, the food can be frozen to preserve freshness. Our food is not "warehoused", it is delivered to Riverside within two days of manufacture.
